Don’t delay, make plans for a move today, advises Ashley Adams

Get ready for the seasonal surge

Local estate agency Ashley Adams is urging homeowners thinking of a new year move to get in touch now to see how they can take advantage of what is statistically one of the busiest online times of the year.  Each year, the Christmas holidays see a seasonal surge in visits to leading property websites when prospective buyers make plans for the forthcoming year.

Popular websites Rightmove and Zoopla both experience a spike in activity over the Christmas holidays, as people use this time to start their search for a new home online.  Indeed, last year Rightmove received a staggering 8 million visits to its site over the festive period and Zoopla recorded 7.2 million visits to its website in the window between Christmas and New Year*.  To ensure customers benefit from all this extra online activity over the Christmas period, Ashley Adams is advising to instruct with them as soon as possible so as not to miss out on this fantastic window of opportunity.

“Now is a great time for customers to get everything ready for the seasonal rush,” says David Plumtree, Estate Agency Chief Executive at parent company Connells Group.  “With many committed buyers actively looking for a new home over the holidays, homeowners shouldn’t delay in putting their house on the market until the new year thinking that the festive period will be quiet, as it’s quite the opposite.  Online activity starts climbing from Boxing Day onwards – and that’s been consistent for many years now. We fully expect this Christmas time to be another very busy period.”

David continues: “At Ashley Adams, we know how to market your property to its full potential to ensure it stands out and receives maximum exposure at this busy time.  If moving home is part of your plan for early next year, be proactive and get in touch with us to see how we can get your property sold."
