Wolseley Bridge is an area of outstanding beauty, with picturesque surroundings that ooze rural charm. Shugborough Hall was the ancestral home of the Earls of Lichfield, four miles North West of Rugeley. The Lichfield family vault is at St Michael and All Angels Church in Colwich, a short distance from Shugborough Hall. Wolseley Hall was until recently the home of the Wolseley Baronets for at least eight centuries.
Approach
Leaving Rugeley on the A51, turn Right at the roundabout by the Wolseley Arms. Proceed over the River Trent and follow the A51 to the Colwich filling station. Once past this there are several large houses set back from the main road, and Barons court lies on the Left hand side, where a gated access leads into the private courtyard.
