Alderbrook School hosted an Auction at Notcutts Garden Centre on 8th February in order to raise money for the 17 pupils given an exciting opportunity to lead a month long expedition to the countries of Guatemala, Belize and Mexico.
Burchell Edwards Estate Agents were proud supporters of the event. Auctioneer Paul Vickerstaff and Branch Manger at Burchell Edwards Solihull said:
"We are proud to be part of a continuing campaign of support for local community events. What could be more fitting than to help young people raise money for such a worthwhile expedition."
The Mayor & Mayoress of Solihull opened the Auction and commented, "It is wonderful to see children volunteering to undertake vital project work in the remote Mayan villages. It will certainly be challenging but very rewarding for all students involved."
Neil Beaumont, Assistant Headteacher, commented "The outstanding success of the Auction that raised over £3000 was a reflection of the dedication of the teachers involved, the aspirations of the pupils and the support of parents. All are to be congratulated. We could not have achieved such a successful result without the continued support of Burchell Edwards. They have become a valuable help to the school, the cause and the pupils involved. Thank you so much. We also thank Notcutts Garden Centre for their wholehearted support."
